Why Australia Has No National Aboriginal Dance

Saturday July 16, 2005
From our forum: "My people (Aborigines) have many, many traditional dances, often lumped under the generic term 'corroborees'. However in our tradition, a lot of the dances are unique to one area or clan/tribe, and even a neighboring clan would have to request permission to perform them, or even SEE them." - Trin
Thank you, Trin, for this insight.
For those interested in experiencing Aboriginal life and culture, here are some places you may want to visit and which are open to all:
Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park in Queensland
Yanchep National Park in Western Australia
Kwillana Dreaming: Aboriginal Culture Tours, also in Western Australia
