Watch Out for the Deadly Irukandji Jellyfish

Some three years ago, two tourists visiting Queensland died as a result of being stung by the Irukandji jellyfish, a tiny, virtually transparent killer. Knowing where and when this danger exists means safety precautions can thus be taken. If you're planning a visit to the northern Queensland coast and other seacoast areas of northern Australia, note that the jellyfish season starts in late October.
