Melbourne's Carols by Candlelight

It's Carols by Candlelight time in Melbourne and a crowd of more than 30,000 is expected at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl for tonight's event which reaches more than 2 million homes through television.

Well-known Australian entertainers such as Marina Prior, Hi-5, David Campbell, the Lion King cast, and Humphrey B Bear perform at tonight's festivities.

Unlike Sydney's Carols in the Domain on December 17, the Melbourne event is not free with reserve and lawn seating tickets ranging from $20 to $185 (family). I'm sure all proceeds go to charity so we can't be Scrooges.

Gates open at 5pm, pre-show entertainment at 8pm, and the main event from 9pm to 11.30pm. The Sidney Myer Music Bowl is located inside the Kings Domain Park on Linlithgow Ave in Melbourne.
