It's the Blues at Byron Bay
Wednesday April 12, 2006
It's not just the blueness of the sea that attracts visitors to Byron Bay this Easter long weekend.
It's the blues.
From April 13 to 17 Byron Bay holds its five-day Eastertime Blues and Roots Festival at Red Devil Park on Broken Head Rd with a range of music styles including country, rock, funk and, of course, Southern-style blues.
Four separate stages pump out the music throughout the Easter long weekend with some of the world's top singers and bands drawn to the annual festival at Byron Bay.
The festival site is a few kilometres out of Byron Bay at Red Devil Rugby Ground. Buses leave from town every 10 minutes and drop you at the festival entrance.
For those planning on driving, there is a large space allocated to parking and volunteers help guide you to parking spots.

Actually, there is very no official space for parking at all. The only parking spaces nearby are at the high school across the street, and they charge $10 a day. The best way to get to the festival is to take the shuttle bus ($3) which runs at all hours of the day or night, or park in a side street and walk to the festival.
