Coast into Sunshine at Noosa

On Queensland's Sunshine Coast, Noosa is a popular holiday region north of Brisbane and arguably a less touristy place than the Gold Coast. It's close enough to Fraser Island so you can take a daytrip to Australia's largest sand island.
