Amazing Race Hits Australia

Friday May 19, 2006
The ninth incarnation of the popular American CBS reality-TV series The Amazing Race hit Australia last night.

It was shown on Australia's Seven network and the remaining five pairs of contestants, in Episode 9 last night, arrived in Western Australia after a plane flight over the Indian Ocean from Oman in the Middle East.

Check out the route they took from the time they landed in Perth then raced to Kings Park for further instructions. From there they were quickly off to Fremantle to catch the ferry to Rottnest Island where they faced a Sand (drag 40 large branches down a beach) or Sea (go diving for live crayfish) choice.

Then it was back to Fremantle, to the Fremantle Prison and its subterranean tunnels, before rushing to the Pit Stop at the Fremantle Sailing Club.

I understand they're off to Darwin next week. If you're in Australia, catch Episode 10 on the Seven network on Thursday night. Only four pairs of "amazing racers" remain.
