It's Kauri Festival Time in New Zealand's Northland

This year's Kauri Festival in New Zealand's Northland started last week and continues until the end of the month.The Kauri Festival comprises a variety of events and activities — kauri product displays, competitions, art exhibitions, dances and other entertainment — celebrating the New Zealand tree, the kauri.
Of about 2700 plants native to New Zealand, the most famous are the towering kauri whose forests are said to be among the most ancient in the world.
Visit the kauri forests as you travel through Ninety Mile Beach to Cape Reinga.
