Tiptoe Through the Tulips

Friday September 14, 2007
If you're planning to drive from Sydney to Canberra for the Floriade festival this month, or simply wish to have some time in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, you might consider stopping in Bowral, off the Hume Highway from Mittagong, for the Tulip Time Festival which this year runs from September 20.

The Southern Highlands are a short drive from Sydney — no more than a leisurely 90 minutes — and you'll find the Australian countryside here at its most appealing.

Stop at the visitor centre in Mittagong right on the Hume, and check out the Southern Highlands attractions you'd like to visit.

The Bowral Tulip Time Festival continues until October 3 and takes in the Labor Day long weekend.
