Nanta Rocks Darling Harbour
Saturday September 15, 2007
If you're in Sydney next weekend, walk over to Darling Harbour for some Korean festival fun when the Korea Chuseok (Thanksgiving) Festival 2007 comes to Palm Grove on September 22 and 23.
Described as Korea’s top performance theatre group, Nanta performs six times on an open air stage over the weekend of the festival.
Nanta has had success on Broadway in New York for one and a half years, at the Edinburgh Festival and on the London stage.
Free performances
Nanta performs free at the Korea Chuseok Festival with dramatic comedy routines, traditional drumming, and much audience interaction.
The two-day festival is organised by Korea Tourism Organisation in cooperation with the Korean Society of Sydney. The festival highlights Korean arts and cultural performances, Korean cuisine, martial arts demonstrations and Korean traditional dance performances.
And — yes — festival visitors can join the Ganggangsullae (Circle Dance), a traditional Korean group dance which invites families, lovers and friends to join in for good luck and to share their happiness. Photo: Nanta, courtesy Korea Tourism Organisation and Korean Society of Sydney
