Priscilla Opens in Melbourne
Friday September 28, 2007
The stage adaptation of the 1994 Australian film comedy The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert opens in Melbourne with preview performances from tonight.
Priscilla the Musical opened in Sydney in October last year and closed on September 2 in preparation for its move to Melbourne.
The distinctively Australian musical plays Melbourne's Regent Theatre, officially opening on October 2.
The original film starred Terence Stamp, Hugo Weaving and Guy Pearce, and followed the adventures of a Sydney drag queen and her two fish-out-of-water friends heading west across the Australian desert to Alice Springs in a battered old bus.
The stage musical stars Tony Sheldon, Jeremy Stanford, Daniel Scott, Michael Caton and Collette Mann. Photo: A scene from Priscilla the Musical © Priscilla
