Take Time for a Drop of Wine or Two

Friday October 5, 2007
A major part of the fun of visiting Australia's vineyards and wineries is the discovery of fine new wines as you go on wine tasting tours.

And discovering "new" wines doesn't mean you just find new vintage but also finding older, more mature wines you haven't tasted before.

The first wine region I ever visited in Australia was the Hunter Valley, mainly because of its closeness to Sydney, and then it was off to the Barossa Valley in South Australia.

My more recent visits to Australia's wine regions have been to the Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula just outside Melbourne in Victoria.

Really what better way is there to spend a leisurely day than imbibing a drop of wine or two? Wine tasting in the Barossa Valley © Australian Tourist Commission
