This is the second time South Africa has won the Rugby World Cup, having won it in 1995 in Johannesburg, South Africa, beating New Zealand 15-12.
The highly-rated Australian and New Zealand teams were eliminated in the 2007 quarter finals.
The 2011 Rugby World Cup will be held in New Zealand.
