Up, Up and Away in the Canberra Sky

Tuesday April 1, 2008
If you're in Canberra later this month, you might want to know that the autumn balloon spectacular takes place from April 19 to 27, filling two weekends and the weekdays in between.

To get close to the action, get to the forecourt of Old Parliament House where the hot air balloons are launched.

Not only can you enjoy the spectacle of balloons filling the Canberra sky but you can also, if you wish, clamber into one and take to the sky yourself. See how you can book a flight.

While in Canberra, don't forget to go sightseeing and visit such popular venues and attractions as the National Gallery, National Museum, Australian War Memorial and, especially for the kids, Questacon.

Don't forget it's autumn and the landscape, trees and leaves should be turning to gold.

Find suitable accommodation in Australia's capital city.
