New Aussie Films at Sydney Festival

If you're interested in new Australian films, this year's Sydney Film Festival from June 4 to 22 should be a wonderful opportunity to see what's new.
An eclectic mix of Australian films, including co-productions with other countries, feature in the Australian section of this year's festival which is divided into several strands.
These include Australian and world films, documentaries, shorts, digital innovations, talks and forums.
The Australian films in competition at the festival are Three Blind Mice, written and directed by actor Matthew Newton (who also appears in the movie), and The Square by Nash Edgerton from a screenplay by Matthew Dabner and Joel Edgerton.
Other Australian films screening at the festival include Children of the Silk Road, a China-Australia-Germany co-production; End of the Rainbow, a France-Australia co-production; The Eternity Man, a filmed opera on homeless "Eternity" man Arthur Stace who chalked the word "Eternity" on Sydney sidewalks an estimated 500,000 times over 35 years; Lake Mungo on how the dead haunt the living; and River of No Return on an Indigenous Yolngo girl who wanted to be an actress like Marilyn Monroe.
Festival venues include the State Theatre on Market St, Metro Theatre and Greater Union on George St and Dendy Opera Quays at East Circular Quay.
