Viewed Wins the Melbourne Cup

Fast finishing Viewed has raced down the Flemington straight to win the 2008 Melbourne Cup.
In a heart-pounding photofinish, Bauer came in second, followed by C'est la Guerre third.
Viewed, carrying 53kg and ridden by jockey Blake Shinn, is trained by Australian Bart Cummings who is considered the country's Cups King with a number of Melbourne Cup winning horses.
Viewed, an outside $31 Cup chance, gave Cummings his 12th Melbourne Cup in a distinguished career.
Short-priced favorites Mad Rush, Septimus and Nom Du Jeu disappointed with Mad Rush the best of the favorites in finishing seventh, followed by Nom Du Jeu eighth. Septimus finished 18th in the 22-horse field.
