What to See and Do in Hobart

On Boxing Day, December 26, the Sydney Hobart Yacht Race begins on Sydney Harbour.

The leading boats reach Hobart, capital of Tasmania, before year's end. The rest of the racing flotilla, except for those yachts which may have dropped out of the race for one reason or another, reach Hobart in the new year.

It's a festive, active time in Hobart and for those in the Tasmanian capital during this period there's much to see and do. Explore the city itself, visit the markets, take daytrips to nearby regions.
