Official race standings at 9.40pm, December 27, Australian eastern daylight saving time, saw a new leader emerge, relegating super maxi yachts Wild Oats XI and Skandia to second and third place.
Leading the pack down the east coast of Tasmania at the reported time of 9.40pm was the Murray 42 yacht Secret Men's Buisiness #1 skippered by Ross Trembath and Rob Curtis.
At 10.30pm, the Sydney Hobart race tracker had Secret Men's Business #1 ahead by some 49 nautical miles to Wild Oats XI, with Skandia another 10 nautical miles behind.
