Gisborne: Where Day Begins

Thursday March 19, 2009
Sun, surf, sea and a fascinating back country combine to make Gisborne, New Zealand's easternmost city, a place for both easy leisure and active sports.

Located close to the international date line, Gisborne lays claim to being the first major city in the world where every new day begins.

With the sun shining an average of 2200 hours a year, it is also one of the sunniest places in New Zealand.
