Broome: It's Really One Pearl of a Town
Friday April 10, 2009
It's not the nearest place to go but with regular two-and-a-half-hour flights from Perth, the coastal pearling town of Broome is hardly inaccessible. Particularly in these cooling autumn months — and the southern winter's just around the corner — Broome's tropical weather is an added attraction. There's Cable Beach, too.If you're flying from other parts of the country, check with your airline for flights to Broome. Or go by train and take the Indian Pacific from Sydney. And, yes, check out the other attractions of Western Australia... Photo: South Seas pearl from Broome © Tourism Western Australia

Are you SURE you can catch a train from Sydney to Broome? The Indian Pacific goes from Sydney to Perth, but stops there. It doesn’t turn right and go another 2200 km to Broome – there is no passenger service north of Perth and in fact, there is no track at all north of Geraldton.
No, there’s no train from Sydney all the way to Broome.
Regards.
