Weird, Wonderful, Wowmazing Australia

Saturday August 8, 2009

These hills are alternately striped orange and black, a natural coloration of the Bungle Bungles at Purnululu (otherwise known as Bungle Bungle) National Park in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

They are among the many unique landscape (and seascape) features found not only in the far reaches of the Australian Outback but also along the more accessible coasts. Some may call them weird and wonderful, but many are agreed they're simply amazing.
