If You're Coming to Sydney, Make Sure You've Got the Right Sydney, and If You're Coming to Melbourne...
Not too long ago, a South American tourist planning to visit Australia landed at Sydney airport.
Only problem was she landed in Sydney on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia.
It wasn't the first time such an event had happened.
In 2002 two Londoners planned to fly to Sydney, Australia. You guessed it: they also landed in Nova Scotia.
To confuse matters further, there's also a Sidney (note the "i") in Canada's British Columbia, and people planning to visit there had also somehow landed in Nova Scotia...
Of course, if you're planning on visiting Melbourne, you'd land in Melbourne in Australia. Well, almost all the time anyway...
