Wanna See a Dunny Race?

Wednesday September 23, 2009

Well, they're having a Dunny Derby in Winton's Outback Festival which opened yesterday and continues until September 26. And if you don't know what a dunny is, check out what dunny means in our list of Strine and Aussie slang.

The Dunny Derby takes place on September 25 at the Eric Lenton Memorial Sports Ground at 4.30pm.

Winton in Outback Queensland is, of course, where Waltzing Matilda was written and where Qantas was born. Fair dinkum, mate, the Outback do is a grand shivoo of bonzer proportions.
