Fiesta Time at Darling Harbour

Sunday September 27, 2009

The Labor Day long weekend is coming and Sydney's Darling Harbour is having its Fiesta.

Darling Harbour Fiesta has the reputation of being Australia's largest Latin American festival featuring music and dance with that distinctive hot Latin beat, including Mexican mariachis, Latin American and Afro-Cuban bands, flamenco dancers, capoeiristas, and Brazilian carnivale girls.

Swaying its way from October 2 to 5, Fiesta will feature free performances by top bands and dancers from noon to around 10pm every day until Labor Day Monday, except perhaps for Friday when festivities start later in the afternoon. There's also the opportunity to learn to salsa, tango and samba with the experts.

Adding spice to Fiesta will be a range of Latin American and Spanish food stalls at Tumbalong Park offering a variety of culinary goodies.
