Americain has won the 2010 Melbourne Cup.
The American-bred racehorse trained and raced in France by Alain de Royer Dupre and ridden in the Cup by jockey Gerald Mosse beat hot favorite So You Think into third place. Maluckyday finished second.
Americain won the Geelong Cup on October 20.
