Go on a Camel Trek into the Heart of Australia

By , About.com GuideMarch 15, 2011

Follow me on:

The town of Alice Springs lies in Australia's Red Centre on the train route between Adelaide in South Australia and Darwin in the Northern Territory.

From here, if you wish, you can head to Australia's imposing rock monolith that is Uluru or into the Valley of the Winds in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

Find out at Alice Springs about joining a camel safari or going on a trek of your choosing.

Come camel riding with Pyndan Camel Tracks, the only camel tour operator in Alice Springs. Pyndan Camel Tracks is a family run business offering a memorable and relaxing camel ride experience. We’re located 15 minutes from Alice Springs CBD. Choose from our one-hour afternoon rides or a half day morning tour. The journey follows a scenic valley, providing travelers an opportunity to explore the diverse habitat within the MacDonnell Ranges. See native kangaroos and birds. Help feed our gentle, well trainined camels. Chat with our cameleers about catching wild camels, crossing the desert with only camels for company, and every day life on an outback camel farm. It’s relaxing and good fun. The highlight of your trip to Alice Springs.

Hi Lisa
Lovely to hear from you and would love to see you and Phil in the Alice. You can send me an email to book at pyndan@cameltracks.com. Check out our website to see ride details but basically we have lovely one hour relaxing rides in the afternoon at 12noon, 2.30pm or 5pm winter sunset. After sunset you can help my kids feed your camel! Or if you want to spend more time with your camel and explore a valley up close to the MacDonnell Ranges, then book the half day morning ride. They are all picturesque and relaxing.
I’m in then process of uploading a new website that should be up in the next few days. Next week you will be able to book live through our website. Or if you want to talk to a real camelman, call Marcus on 0416 170164! See you soon! Julia
