With Christmas and the New Year Just Around the Corner, Can the Sydney Festival Be Far Behind?

By December 21, 2012

Well, no, not actually. Not long after the New Year fireworks have faded from the sky, the 2013 Sydney Festival opens on January 5 and continues until January 27, taking in Australia Day on January 26.

The festival gets off on Day One with three different events including the arrival of Rubber Duck, festival symbol, at Darling Harbour's Cockle Bay, together with all attendant fanfare and ceremony.

Succeeding days bring a wealth of theatre, dance and music events, in the city and in the suburbs, as well as wake-up calls on an alphorn and a ferry race on Sydney Harbour.
