Wild Oats XI Leads Race Fleet into Bass Strait

The super maxi Wild Oats XI has powered down the Australian east coast and is now poised to cross Bass Strait in this year's Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. It is being trailed by Ragamuffin Loyal which last year beat Wild Oats XI sailing as Investec Loyal.

At the moment, it looks as though Wild Oats XI has a sixth line honors win — and an overall victory besides — in its sights if not in its grasp. And there's always the possibility of a slip 'twixt (the winning) cup and trip.
