It was confirmed at noon on December 29 that 2012 Sydney Hobart Yacht Race line honors winner Wild Oats XI had also won overall on handicap in addition to breaking its own race record.
It meant Wild Oats XI had won the treble — twice. The winning yacht had earlier claimed the treble in 2005 by being line honors winner, first overall and with breaking the race record.
