Nothing beats tucking into juicy watermelon in the heat of summer, and you'll find watermelon aplenty in the Queensland town of Chinchilla in the Darling Downs.
In fact, Chinchilla prides itself in being known as the Melon Capital of Australia.
Chinchilla is so proud of its product it holds a Melon Festival every two years in February. This year's festival has come and gone, but if you want to go melon skiing or doing the melon bungy or simply spitting melon pips, the next festival is from February 19 to 22, 2015, so there's lots of time to plan ahead.
