Popular Australian singer Kylie Minogue has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Minogue was in Melbourne, getting ready for her national Show Girl tour, when she was said to have learned the news.

Her 20 shows across the country have been postponed while the singer undergoes treatment.

Tour promoter Michael Gudinski was reported as saying: "Hopefully she'll be out there strutting her stuff before too long."

Australian fans were being advised to hold on to their Kylie Minogue concert tickets as promoters were optimistic the shows would go ahead at a later date.

Prior to its postponement, the Kylie Minogue Show Girl tour had been scheduled to start tomorrow, May 19, at the Sydney Superdome, followed by two more concerts at the same venue, then May 31, June 1 and 2 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

In between her Sydney concerts, Kylie Minogue had been scheduled to perform in Melbourne May 23 to 31 at Melbourne Park.

From Sydney she was then to perform in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth until June 14.
