Rail Link to Darwin Completed

A 30-second weld between two rails has finally sealed the Darwin-Adelaide rail line after nearly a century, reports today's South Australian newspaper The Advertiser. With the completion of the rail link, passengers from Adelaide will soon be able to take the Ghan to Darwin. Passengers from Sydney or Perth need to take the Indian Pacific to Adelaide, passengers from Melbourne would take the Overland, and these passengers would then transfer to the Ghan for all-the-way train travel to Australia's Top End.
