Questacon, Australia's national science and technology centre, is located on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin within what is known as the Parliamentary Triangle in the national capital, Canberra.

It is a particularly popular destination for students, and families with children, among those who visit Canberra from either interstate or overseas.

If you are traveling with children, add Questacon to your Canberra must-see list for this is a place where science exhibits are not only educational but also, and especially, fun.

I know of young adults who today remember a visit to Questacon -- while they were in primary or high school -- as one of their most memorable and most enjoyable times in Canberra.

Where is it?

The Parliamentary Triangle has the Australian Parliament House at its apex with Commonwealth Avenue and Kings Avenue as its sides and Lake Burley Griffin as its base.

The triangle's apex is actually in the south and Commonwealth Avenue runs north over the bridge, and if you follow it through Northbourne Avenue, you would soon be on the Federal Highway which leads north to the Hume Highway and from there to Sydney.

In the Parliamentary Triangle, Questacon lies between the National Library and the High Court along King Edward Terrace.

There is more than adequate parking on the site and within the triangle itself.
