Kangaroos at Booderoo (formerly Jervis Bay) National Park across the water from Sussex Inlet on the South Coast approach inhabited holiday cottages in their search for food. The kangaroos are friendly and have apparently no fear of the holidaying humans, having been fed by them before. Jervis Bay is reached from Sydney via the Princess Highway. Turn left at the turn-off sign just past the town of Nowra. The drive should take very much less than a leisurely three hours.
