Jacarandas in bloom at Grafton

The striking purple flowers are of jacaranda trees in full bloom. In Grafton, where this picture was taken, the jacarandas are usually in full flower in and around October. Jacaranda trees, accepted as very much part of the Australian landscape, are actually not native to Australia but have been introduced from India.
