Well, you don't actually go surfing on Margaret River, which is the town, see? Or the river which is just north of the town centre. You head just a few kilometres west and there's the Indian Ocean and great surfing spots like this one.
Just about four hours from Perth, Margaret River is considered one of the most consistent, scenic and laid-back surfing destinations in the world with more than 40 places to surf — conditions ranging from powerful reef breaks to fun beach breaks.
