The restored late Victorian, Romanesque building that is the Queen Victoria Building occupies a whole Sydney city block across the street north of Sydney Town Hall. The city block is bounded by George, Market, York and Park Sts. Restored to its original look and lustre, the Queen Victoria Building today is a relatively upmarket shopping complex dedicated largely to fashion wear, jewelry, and Australian items.
