By , About.com Guide

Question: What Are the Performance Venues at the Sydney Opera House?
Answer: The Sydney Opera House has a Concert Hall for music events with seating for 2679 patrons and several theatres of various sizes. The Opera Theatre (1547 seats) is mainly used for opera and ballet productions. Plays and other performance events are staged at the Drama Theatre (544 seats), the Playhouse (398 seats), and the Studio (flexible seating for around 280).

In addition to these five venues, other spaces such as the Reception Hall and the northern foyers of the Concert Hall and Opera Theatre are suitable for various events.

The Sydney Opea House Forecourt has been used as an amphitheatre for outdoor events. The building’s sails (as the roof area is known) have been used for artistic performances.
