Katherine, Northern Territory

This is the head and neck of a tall crane known as the brolga (Grus rubicundus), one of many Australian birds found in the tropical wetlands of Australia. They stand more than a metre high and are grey in color with a touch of red in the head. This brolga was photographed at Katherine in the Northern Territory.
