Well, it does not look quite so bald from this side. But if you were looking up from the beach, you'd notice that the tree line only reaches the lower larger part of the hill and top is, well, treeless.
From Bald Hill, which is a jump-off point for hang gliders and paragliders on good days, you can see Stanwell Park beach below.
Less than an hour's drive from Sydney at the southern edge of the Royal National Park, this is where the Illawarra region and the South Coast of New South Wales begin.
