St Mary's Cathedral

Aspiring for the Sky

And so they've put spires on the twin towers of St Mary's Cathedral. Helicopters flew the steel framework to the top in 1999, and brickwork completed the construction. The crosses on top of the spires were placed on June 25, 2000, finally completing the work. The cathedral's foundation stone was laid in 1868, more than 130 years ago.St Mary's spires framework
