This is part of the sprawling Lake Jindabyne which was created as a result of the Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Project which took more than 25 years — from 1949 to 1974 — to complete. Jindabyne is a base for skiing tourists who take the Skitube to Thredbo or Perisher Valley.
