After your sojourn north, south or west of Sydney, it's time to take it easy on a pleasant Sydney beach or in the waters not only of Sydney Harbour but of the Pacific as well. In fact, beach going is almost an Aussie religion and you may want to see what all the fervour is about.
- Beachtime!
All along the eastern and harbour shores, Sydney is lined with almost endless stretches of white sand. Except in the cold of wintertime, going to the beach is pretty much of an Aussie ritual. So do as the natives do. - Beach safety
There have been a number of beach deaths in Australia which could have easily been prevented or reduced through the taking of simple precautions. Here are some basic rules to follow. - Bondi Beach
One of Sydney's most popular beaches. Or maybe you'd prefer the smaller, more intimate Coogee Beach nearby. - Manly Beach
Take the ferry trip from Circular Quay, a favorite of residents and visitors alike. - Ferry tales can come true
Check out where you can go on Sydney ferries. Perhaps across the harbour to Manly or to the zoo, or to Watsons Bay for Doyles on the beach. Or simply take a harbour cruise. There are dinner cruises as well. - What lies beneath
Or go snorkeling or scuba diving and discover Sydney's underwater world, particularly in the outer harbour areas and along the rocky sections facing the Pacific. There's no end to what you can do in the waters of Sydney.
What they say
- Spread out your toes
"Spread out your toes in some real sandy beaches, use sun screen! Eat real clean food! No mad cows here, the feed is enough to beef em up! In Sydney see the gardens, ferry to Manly, have a swim..."
