How Do I Get to Margaret River?

By Larry Rivera, About.com

Question: How Do I Get to Margaret River?
Answer: If you are driving by car from Perth, there are two main routes you can take.

If taking the route from Perth Airport, take Roe Highway which flows directly into Kwinana Highway. Follow the signs to Mandurah.

From Mandurah, take the Old Coast Road through Bunbury and Busselton. If you're not stopping or staying at Busselton, bypass the town by turning into Bussell Highway. Follow Bussell Highway through Cowaramup to Margaret River.

If coming from Perth city instead of the airport, simply head south into Kwinana Freeway, and follow the route through Mandurah, Bunbury and Busselton.

Alternative route

An alternative route is taking the South Western Highway through Armadale, Pinjarra, Waroona, Harvey, Brunswick Junction and on into Bunbury then Busselton, Cowaramup and through to Margaret River.

In any case, having a detailed map of southwestern Western Australia should prove extremely helpful, particularly when visiting Margaret River wineries and surfing locations.

Going by bus

If you prefer taking a bus to Margaret River, there are daily bus services between Perth city and Margaret River.
