If you look roughly west-northwest from Parliament House on Canberra's Capital Hill, you will see a tower rising from the crest of the mountain.
The mountain is Black Mountain and the tower is a multi-function facility providing a mountaintop lookout for 360-degree views of Canberra city and the region.
There are viewing platforms at the site, a souvenir shop, a coffee kiosk and a revolving restaurant.
The Black Mountain Tower is open to the public from 9am to 10pm. An admission fee is charged.
To get to Black Mountain Tower by car, take the Black Mountain Drive turn-off, on Clunies Ross St, near the entrance to the Australian National Botanic Gardens.
Canberra day tour buses may include visits to Black Mountain Tower.
