From the time I was introduced to Morris West's The Devil's Advocate (first published in 1959) I was hooked on his books. I have read most of them and think his earlier works were among his best. His annnounced "final" book The Lovers (1993) was followed by two more: Vanishing Point (1996) and Eminence (1998). Melbourne-born Morris West died in Sydney in 1999.
