The 2012 Chinese New Year — the Year of the Dragon — arrived in Sydney — and the rest of the world — on January 23.

A highlight of the Sydney Chinese New Year Festival in 2012, as on previous years, was the Chinese New Year parade on January 29.

The 2012 Sydney parade took place at twilight and started at Sydney Town Hall, then proceeded through the streets of Chinatown.

A Chinese New Year fireworks display took place after the parade.
