The Ellerslie International Flower Show is arguably New Zealand's best known gardening event.
First held in Auckland in 1994, it was modeled on London's famous Chelsea Flower Show.

The Ellerslie International Flower Show is said to be as much about homes and lifestyles as it is about gardens, the plants, garden design, color, structure and form.
In 2009, it moves from Auckland on the North Island to Christchurch on the South Island.
The new venue
The Ellerslie International Flower Show takes place from March 11 to 15 at its new venue in Hagley Park, Christchurch.
Hagley Park comprises 165 hectares (407 acres) of parkland and recreation areas west of — and close to — the city centre.
