Islands of Australia

The continent of Australia includes a number of offshore islands, a large number of which contains holiday resorts and various travel attractions.

Bathurst Island

This is part of the Tiwi Islands group north of Darwin in the Northern Territory, a place to visit for its indigenous people, culture, arts and crafts.

Daydream Island

Queensland's Daydream Island is one of the smaller islands in the Whitsundays with resort accommodation and facilities for guests and daytrippers.

Fraser Island

Heard Island

Located in the sub-antarctic region, Heard Island is the largest island in Australia's outlying Territory of Heard Island and McDonald Islands.

Heron Island

Kangaroo Island

Macquarie Island

Macquarie Island, a sub-antarctic island located in the Southern Ocean, is part of Tasmania.

McDonald Island

This is part of the Heard Island and McDonald Islands group which is a sub-antarctic territory of Australia.

Melville Island

Australia's second largest island after the island state of Tasmania, Melville Island is part of the Tiwi Islands group.

Phillip Island

Everyday at sundown hundreds of fairy penguins come out of the sea and return to their burrows on Phillip Island's Summerland Beach.

Rottnest Island
