This is one of a series of metal statue-like structures along one side of historic Sandridge Bridge spanning the Yarra from Southbank's Queensbridge Square to Flinders Walk on the north bank.

The figures on the bridge are meant to represent immigrants, The Travellers, who traditionally arrived by train over the bridge. Originally a railway bridge, Sandridge was redeveloped in 2006 and converted into public space doubling as pedestrian and cycle path.
