Nicole Kidman had made no secret of her wanting to give birth to a child, and in early January 2008, her publicist, Wendy Day, confirmed that the actress and her husband, award-winning country singer Keith Urban, were expecting a baby.
Nicole Kidman's first biological child, Sunday Rose, was born on July 7, 2008, in the United States.
Kidman had had an ectopic pregnancy and a miscarriage during her 10-year relationship with actor Tom Cruise and had told Vanity Fair in October 2007 she was "yearning" to give birth: "I think I would be very sad if I wasn't able to have a baby."
Is she really Australian? Yes, she is.
Although Nicole Mary Kidman (her full birth name) was born on June 20, 1967, in Honolulu, Hawaii, and the Kidman family then moved immediatley to Washington DC where they stayed for three years, she was born to Australian parents Anthony and Janelle.
The family then returned to Australia where the young Nicole grew up in Sydney.

Marriage to Urban
Although she has lived overseas through several periods in her life, Nicole Kidman has always been identified as Australian and calls Australia home.
She returned to Australia in June 2006 for her marriage to singer Keith Urban. Together they issued a joint statement: "We are very happy to be back in Australia. We have come home to celebrate our wedding with our family and friends."
The Nicole Kidman-Keith Urban wedding took place on June 25, 2006, in the beachside Sydney suburb of Manly.

She had been named a Companion of the Order of Australia at the 2007 Australia Day Honors but had been unable to receive her award at the time.
